SANGEETA PILLAI
Sangeeta Pillai is an award-winning podcaster, author and feminist activist. Born in Kerala, raised in Mumbai and now living in London, she is the creator of the multi-award-winning Masala Podcast and founder of the South Asian feminist network Soul Sutras. Recognised as a leading voice for South Asian feminism globally, her work has appeared on billboards in New York, London, Dublin, Cardiff and Glasgow.
Her memoir Bad Daughter tells the inspirational story of her journey from Mumbai’s slums to New York’s billboards with a healing stopover in Kerala’s temples, and has become an empowering feminist book for women breaking free from patriarchy. She also created the Masala Monologues series of writing workshops and theatre shows, and speaks regularly at international festivals and on panels and podcasts for global companies.
