PAUL ZACHARIA
Paul Zacharia has authored over 50 works of fiction and non-fiction in Malayalam including short stories, novellas, travelogues, film-scripts, essays/columns and children’s books. A founding member of the Asianet TV channel, he writes for leading Malayalam and English newspapers and has traveled extensively in Indian abroad. In 2004 he received the Kendra Sahitya Akademi Award. In November 2013 he was elected a Distinguished Fellow of the Kerala Sahitya Akademi. He has been honored with several other literary awards including Kerala Sahitya Akademi (twice), Odakkuzhal, Muttathu Varkey, Padmarajan, Katha twice), OV Vijayan and Vallatthol. In November 2020, the government of Kerala presented him its top literary honor: the Ezhuthachan Award. His latest work is ‘True Story of a Writer, a Philosopher and a Shape-shifter’, a novel in English. He lives in Thiruvananthapuram.
