Mrudul V. M. is an acclaimed short story writer from Meengoth, Kasaragod. A molecular biologist by training, Mridul brings a unique analytical depth to his literary craft. He holds a degree in Plant Science from Nehru College, Kanhangad, and a Master’s degree in Molecular Biology from the P. K. Rajan Memorial Campus.His debut short story collection, ‘Kule’, published by DC Books, established him as a significant voice in contemporary Malayalam literature. Over the years, his work has been recognized with numerous prestigious honors, including the Nanthanar Award (2025), the Basheer Short Story Award (Information and Public Relations Department), and the Thakazhi Short Story Award. His other accolades include the Kolkata Kairali Thunchan Smaraka Award, the U. P. Jayaraj Award, and the Yuvadhara Special Jury Award, among others. He currently resides in Periya, Kasaragod, where he continues to explore the intersections of life and narrative.
