MAKARAND PARANJAPE

Makarand R. Paranjape is Sri Aurobindo Chair (Hon.) at Vedere University and Director of Education at Access Health Care Physicians, Florida. He served as Professor of English at Jawaharlal Nehru University for nearly 25 years and was Director of the Indian Institute of Advanced Study, Shimla (2018–2021). A poet, novelist, critic, and commentator, he has authored/edited 55 books and published over 200 academic papers. His ongoing columns include “Soft Power” (Open), “Right in the Middle” (The New Indian Express), and “US Sutra” (FirstPost). His recent works include Hindutva and Hind Swaraj (2025), Mahatma Gandhi: Mrityu aur Punarutthan (2024), Identity’s Last Secret (2023), JNU: Nationalism and India's Uncivil War (2022), and Swami Vivekananda: Hinduism and India’s Road to Modernity (2020).
