KALIDAS JAYARAM
Kalidas Jayaram is one of the leading actors among the new generation in Malayalam cinema, having also made a significant mark with notable roles in Tamil film industry. As the son of celebrated actors Jayaram and Parvathy, he made his cinematic debut alongside his father at the age of six in Sathyan Anthikad’s film Kochu Kochu Santhoshangal. His exceptional performance in Ente Veedu Appuvinteyum earned him both the National Film Award and the Kerala State Film Award for Best Child Artist. He entered the Tamil film industry with the movie Meen Kuzhambum Mann Paanaiyum and later debuted as a lead hero in Malayalam through the film Poomaram. His filmography includes other notable works such as Mr. & Ms. Rowdy, Argentina Fans Kaattoorkadavu, and Happy Sardar. His portrayal of a trans woman in the anthology series Paava Kadhaigal received immense critical acclaim and widespread applause. In addition to his lead role in the Tamil film Oru Pakka Kathai, he has delivered standout performances in major productions like Vikram and Raayan. Displaying his versatility early on, Kalidas has performed mimicry on television shows and appeared in commercials as a child. He is married to Tarini Kalingarayar, who was the third runner-up in the Miss Diva beauty pageant.
മലയാളത്തിലെ പുതുതലമുറ നടന്മാരില് മുന്നിരക്കാരില് ഒരാള്. മലയാളത്തിന് പുറമെ തമിഴിലും ശ്രദ്ധേയമായ വേഷങ്ങള് ചെയ്തു. അഭിനേതാക്കളായ ജയറാമിന്റെയും പാര്വതിയുടെയും മകന്. ആറ് വയസ്സ് മാത്രമുള്ളപ്പോള് സത്യന് അന്തിക്കാടിന്റെ കൊച്ചു കൊച്ചു സന്തോഷങ്ങളിലൂടെ അച്ഛന് ജയറാമിനൊപ്പമായിരുന്നു സിനിമയില് അരങ്ങേറ്റം. എന്റെ വീട് അപ്പുവിന്റെയും എന്ന ചിത്രത്തിലൂടെ മികച്ച ബാലതാരത്തിനുള്ള ദേശീയ പുരസ്കാരവും സംസ്ഥാന സര്ക്കാരിന്റെ അവാര്ഡും ലഭിച്ചു. മീന് കുഴമ്പും മണ്പാനിയുമാണ് തമിഴിലെ അരങ്ങേറ്റ ചിത്രം. പൂമരം എന്ന ചിത്രത്തിലൂടെ മലയാളത്തില് ആദ്യമായി നായകനായി. മിസ്റ്റര് ആന്് മിസിസ് റൗഡി, അര്ജന്റീന ഫാന്സ് കാട്ടൂര്കടവ്, ഹാപ്പി സര്ദാര് തുടങ്ങിയവയാണ് മറ്റ് ചിത്രങ്ങള്. പാവ കഥൈകള് എന്ന ആന്തോളജിയിലെ ട്രാന്സ്വുമനായുള്ള അഭിനയം മികച്ച കൈയടി നേടിക്കൊടുത്തു. ഒരു പക്കകഥൈയിലൂടെ തമിഴിലും നായകനായി. വിക്രം, രായന് എന്നിവയില് ശ്രദ്ധേയമായ വേഷങ്ങള് ചെയ്തു. ടെലിവിഷന് ഷോകളില് മിമിക്രി അതരിപ്പിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. ചെറുപ്പത്തില് തന്നെ ഒരു പരസ്യത്തിലും വേഷമിട്ടു. മിസ് ദിവ മത്സരത്തിലെ തേഡ് റണ്ണറപ്പായ താരിണിയാണ് ഭാര്യ.
