CHANDRAMATHI

Born on January 17, 1954 in Thiruvananthapuram. Holds a degree in English Literature from Kerala University and a PhD (1988) from the same institution. Former teacher at All Saints’ College, Thiruvananthapuram. Writes novels, short stories, translations and criticism. She has published around twenty works in English and Malayalam.

Awards include the Thoppil Ravi Foundation Award (1995), Katha National Award (1997), Odakkuzhal Award (1998), Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award (1997), Muthukulam Parvathyamma Award (2004), Padmarajan Award (2007) and O. V. Vijayan Award (2010).
