Vasudhendra
Vasudhendra is an author from India. He is the author of fifteen books in Kannada, that have sold over a hundred thousand copies. He has won many literary awards, including the Kannada Sahitya Academy Book Prize. His book 'Mohanaswamy'; chronicles the life of a young queer man. The book has been translated into English, Spanish, Telugu, Malayalam, Tamil, and Marathi. His recent novel 'Tejo Tungabhadra' has received appreciation from readers and critics alike. After working as a software professional for more than twenty years, Vasudhendra now runs his own publication house, Chanda Pustaka, which publishes and encourages new writing in Kannada. He has instituted the Chanda Pustaka Award which recognizes young short story writers. He is also associated with local support groups for LGBT individuals.
ഇന്ത്യയിലെ പ്രമുഖ സാഹിത്യകാരൻ. കന്നഡയിൽ ഒരു ലക്ഷത്തിലധികം കോപ്പികൾ വിറ്റഴിഞ്ഞ പതിനഞ്ച് പുസ്തകങ്ങളുടെ രചയിതാവാണ് അദ്ദേഹം. കന്നഡ സാഹിത്യ അക്കാദമി ബുക്ക് പ്രൈസ് ഉൾപ്പെടെ നിരവധി സാഹിത്യ പുരസ്കാരങ്ങൾ നേടിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ പ്രധാന കൃതിയായ 'മോഹനസ്വാമി' ഇംഗ്ലീഷ്, സ്പാനിഷ്, തെലുങ്ക്, മലയാളം, തമിഴ്, മറാത്തി എന്നീ ഭാഷകളിലേക്ക് വിവർത്തനം ചെയ്പ്പെട്ടിട്ടുണ്ട്. ഇരുപത് വർഷത്തിലേറെയായി ഒരു സോഫ്‌റ്റ്‌വെയർ പ്രൊഫഷണലായി പ്രവർത്തിച്ച വസുധേന്ദ്ര ഇപ്പോൾ കന്നഡയിൽ പുതിയ എഴുത്തുകൾ പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിക്കുകയും പ്രോത്സാഹിപ്പിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്ന ‘ചന്ദ പുസ്തക’ എന്ന സ്വന്തം പ്രസിദ്ധീകരണ സ്ഥാപനം നടത്തുന്നു. .യുവഎഴുത്തുകാര്‍ക്കായുള്ള ചന്ദ പുസ്തക അവാർഡ് അദ്ദേഹം ഏർപ്പെടുത്തിയിട്ടുണ്ട്.
