V Madhusoodanan Nair
V Madhusoodanan Nair is a renowned poet in Malayalam. The poems recited by him were widely appreciated. He was born in Neyyattinkara of Thiruvananthapuram. His father K Velayudhan Pillai was a Thottampattu artist. After completing their post-graduation in Malayalam from Thiruvananthapuram University College, he joined as a lecturer at Thumba St. Xavier’s College. Madhusoodanan Nair’s debut poetry collection Naranathu Bhranthan was published in 1992. It is one of the most sold-out poetry books in Malayalam.
His other noted works include Bharatheeyam, Gandhi, Agasthyahridayam, Ammayude Ezhuthukal, Achan Piranna Veedu, Ganga, Nataraja Smriti, Sakshi, Ramakatha, Seethayanam and Irulin Mahanidrayil.
He is the recipient of many honours including the Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award for Poetry in 1993, the Kunju Pillai Award for Poetry in 1986, the K Balakrishnan Award in 1991, the Asan Award for Poetry in 2003 and Padmaprabha Literary Award in 2016.
മലയാളത്തിലെ ഏറെ പ്രശസ്തനായ കവി. 1949-ല്‍ തിരുവനന്തപുരത്തെ അരുവിയോട് ജനനം. 1992-ല്‍ പുറത്തിറങ്ങിയ ആദ്യ പുസ്തകം നാറാണത്തു ഭ്രാന്തന്‍ എന്ന കവിതാസമാഹാരമാണ്. ഭാരതീയം, അഗസ്ത്യഹൃദയം, ഗാന്ധി, അമ്മയുടെ എഴുത്തുകള്‍, നടരാജ സ്മൃതി എന്നിവ ആദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ പ്രധാന കൃതികള്‍. കേരള സാഹിത്യ അക്കാദമി പുരസ്‌കാരം, പത്മപ്രഭാ പുരസ്‌കാരം, കേന്ദ്ര സാഹിത്യ അക്കാദമി പുരസ്‌കാരം തുടങ്ങി ഒട്ടനവധി പുരസ്‌കാരങ്ങള്‍ ഇദ്ദേഹത്തിന് ലഭിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. കോളേജ് അധ്യാപകനായിരുന്നു.
