Pritish Nandy
Pritish Nandy is an Indian poet, journalist, parliamentarian, and television personality. He was a parliamentarian in the Rajya Sabha from Maharashtra. He was the Publishing Director of The Times of India Group and Editor of The Illustrated Weekly of India, The Independent, and Filmfare. He has held six exhibitions of his paintings and calligraphy. He founded Pritish Nandy Communications Ltd. He has worked for many causes but is best known as the founder of People for Animals, India's largest animal protection NGO that Maneka Gandhi, its co-founder, heads and runs as chairperson. He has received honours including Padma Shri, Karmaveer Puraskaar, International Humanitarian Award and Bangladesh Liberation War Award.
ആഗ്ലോ-ഇന്ത്യന്‍ കവിയും ചിത്രകാരനും പത്രപ്രവര്‍ത്തകനും. ടൈംസ് ഒഫ് ഇന്ത്യയുടെ പബ്‌ളിഷിങ് എഡിറ്റര്‍, രാജ്യസഭാംഗം എന്നീ നിലകളില്‍ സേവനമനുഷ്ഠിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്.. ഇലസ്‌റ്റ്രേറ്റഡ് വീക്കിലി എഡിറ്ററായിരുന്നു. ഓഫ് ഗോഡ്‌സ് ആന്‍ഡ് ഒലീവ്‌സ്(1967), ഓണ്‍ അയ്ദര്‍ സൈഡ് ഒഫ് അരഗന്‍സ് (1968), ഫ്രം ദി ഔട്ടര്‍ ബാങ്ക് ഒഫ് ദ് ബ്രഹ്മപുത്ര (1969) തുടങ്ങിയവ അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ പ്രധാന കൃതികള്‍. നാഷണല്‍ സയന്‍സ് ടാലന്റ് സ്‌കോളര്‍ (1964), ശ്രീകാന്ത് വര്‍മ അവാര്‍ഡ് ഫോര്‍ ജേര്‍ണലിസം (1988) തുടങ്ങിയ ബഹുമതികള്‍ ലഭിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്.
