Niall Griffiths
Niall Griffiths is an English novelist and short story writer whose themes are set predominantly in Wales. Born in 1966 in Liverpool, he is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature. His writing has been translated into twenty languages and he has appeared in international literary events around the world. His debut novel Grits (2000) earned critical acclaim and his third novel, Kelly and Victor (2002) was made into a BAFTA winning feature film. Niall’s another novel, Broken Ghost (2019), which tackles themes of austerity and social breakdown, won the Rhys Davies Fiction Award and Wales Book of the Year Award in 2020.Griffiths’ first collection of poetry Red Roar: 20 Years of Words was published in 2015.
വെയില്‍സിലെ പ്രമുഖ ഇംഗ്ലിഷ് ഭാഷാ എഴുത്തുകാരന്‍. 1966 ല്‍ ലിവര്‍പൂളില്‍ ജനനം. 8 നോവലുകള്‍ എഴുതിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. കൃതികള്‍ ഇരുപതോളം ഭാഷകളിലേക്ക് മൊഴിമാറ്റം ചെയ്യപ്പെട്ടിട്ടുണ്ട്. ആദ്യ കൃതി ഗ്രിറ്റ്‌സ് 2000-ല്‍ പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിക്കപ്പെട്ടു. ഷീപ്ഷാഗര്‍ (2001), കെല്ലി ആന്‍ഡ് വിക്ടര്‍ (2002), സ്റ്റമ്പ് (2003), വ്രക്കേജ് (2005), റണ്ട് (2007), ദി ഡ്രീംസ് ഓഫ് മാക്‌സ് ആന്‍ഡ് റോണി (2010), എ ഗ്രേറ്റ് ബിഗ് ഷൈനിംഗ് സ്റ്റാര്‍ (2013),പെന്‍ പൗണ്ട് പോം(2011), ബ്രോക്കണ്‍ ഗോസ്റ്റ് (2019) തുടങ്ങിയവ പ്രധാനകൃതികളാണ്. ആദ്യ കവിതാ സമാഹാരം റെഡ് റോര്‍ : ട്വന്റി ഇയേഴ്‌സ് ഓഫ് വേഡ്‌സ് 2015 ല്‍ പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിച്ചു. അബെറിസ്റ്റ്വിത്ത്, ലിവര്‍പൂള്‍ എന്നീ രണ്ട് ട്രാവല്‍ ഗൈഡുകളും രചിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. വെയില്‍സ് ബുക്ക് ഓഫ് ദ ഇയര്‍ പുരസ്‌കാരം രണ്ട് തവണ ലഭിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. റോയല്‍ സൊസൈറ്റി ഓഫ് ലിറ്ററേച്ചറിന്റെ ഫെല്ലോയാണ്.
