N S Madhavan
N. S. Madhavan is an Indian writer and a civil servant from Kerala. He is a distinguished fellow of Kerala Sahitya Akademi. He joined the Indian Administrative Service in 1975 and started his administrative career as a member of the Bihar cadre. He is known for his novel, Lanthan Batheriyile Luthiniyakal and a host of short stories such as Higuita, Thiruthu, Chulaimedile Shavangal and Vanmarangal Veezhumpol, Madhavan also writes football columns and travel articles. He a recipient of several major awards including Odakkuzhal Award, Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award for Story, Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award for Novel, Muttathu Varkey Award, Mathrubhumi Literary Award and Crossword Book Award.
മലയാളത്തില്‍ പുതുഭാവുകത്വവും ആഴത്തിലുള്ള ജീവിതവും ആഖ്യാനിക്കുന്ന കഥകള്‍ എഴുതിയ ശ്രദ്ധേയനായ എഴുത്തുകാരനാണ് എന്‍.എസ്.മാധവന്‍.
ചൂളൈമേടിലെ ശവങ്ങള്‍, ഹിഗ്വിറ്റ, തിരുത്ത്, പര്യായകഥകള്‍, നിലവിളി, എന്‍.എസ്. മാധവന്റെ കഥകള്‍, പഞ്ചകന്യകള്‍ തുടങ്ങിയ കഥാസമാഹാരങ്ങളും ലന്തന്‍ബത്തേരിയിലെ ലുത്തിനിയകള്‍ എന്ന നോവലും രണ്ടു നാടകങ്ങള്‍ എന്ന നാടകപുസ്തകവും പുറം മറുപുറം എന്ന ലേഖനസമാഹാരവും പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്.
മാതൃഭൂമി സാഹിത്യ പുരസ്‌കാരം, പത്മപ്രഭാ പുരസ്‌കാരം, പത്മരാജന്‍ പുരസ്‌കാരം, ഓടക്കുഴല്‍ അവാര്‍ഡ്, കേരളസാഹിത്യ അക്കാദമി അവാര്‍ഡ്, മുട്ടത്തുവര്‍ക്കി അവാര്‍ഡ് തുടങ്ങിയ ഒട്ടേറെ പുരസ്‌കാരങ്ങള്‍ എന്‍.എസ്.മാധവന്റെ എഴുത്തിനെ തേടിയെത്തിയിട്ടുണ്ട്.
